Syphilis can be treated effectively with a course of antibiotics. If caught in the early stages, syphilis can be treated with penicillin (or another antibiotic if you are allergic to penicillin). Many people who test positive for syphilis are treated with Bicillin®, a form of Penicillin. Your medical provider will discuss your treatment options with you to determine the best course of action.
